Synetgies 9: Entrepreneurship as Life Idea

Posted on 06 May 2008 by Camille

We are particularly proud to announce that Ben Casnocha is joining us as a speaker on the occasion of the 9th Synetgies event.

Drawing on his own experiences as entrepreneur and the ones he gathered in writing his book, Ben will discuss what it means to think entrepreneurially in all contexts, not just in the process of starting a business. He will present a series of ideas, facts, and provocative opinions around the entrepreneurial mentality, and then facilitate a discussion as well as the usual interactive Q&A session.

Ben Casnocha is a Silicon Valley based entrepreneur and author. Currently twenty years old, he serves on the board of Comcate, Inc., the leading e-government technology firm he founded six years ago. He has received various accolades. In 2006 BusinessWeek named him one of America’s best young entrepreneurs. In 2004 PoliticsOnline ranked him among the “twenty-five most influential people in the world of Internet and politics.” The Silicon Valley Business Journal named his blog one of the “Top 25 in Silicon Valley.” His work has been featured in hundreds of media around the world, including CNN and USA Today. He’s a commentator for public radio’s “Marketplace”. He is a seasoned speaker on entrepreneurship and leadership, and he cofounded an intellectual discussion society for business and technology executives.

Merry Christmas and an inspiring New Year!

Posted on 17 December 2007 by Andreas

Dear Synetgizers,

We would like to express to you our best wishes for the Christmas season as well as the New Year. Furthermore we would like to thank all the active participants and speakers for making the start of the Synetgies network joyful and successful. As we are just three people who took the initiative, our impact is small. What Synetgies really is about, is the community, it’s every single active contributor in the network. It is therefore our greatest honour to express our special gratitude to those who have supported the community by sharing their experience and contributing their opinions during the events or just giving us valuable inputs and feedback. Most of the speakers have expressed their wish to join future events and we firmly believe that this can be interpreted as a measure of the value that group discussions among driven people from different backgrounds creates. Looking forward to the 2008 events to start in February, we remain,

sincerely yours,

Your Synetgies Team

Synetgies blog re-launch

Posted on 01 November 2007 by Andreas

Dear Synetgizers,

It is our greatest pleasure to re-launch the Synetgies blog today. After the success of our first four Synetgies “alpha” events, to which we only invited a selected group of students from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (EHTZ), we have entered the “beta phase” and decided to enlarge the Synetgies community by re-launching our blog, opening it up to the public and widening the range of participants. The vision of Synetgies had therefore to be re-thought and now reads as follows:

Synetgies is a network of young entrepreneurs and students from Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences and the two Swiss federal institutes of technology (ETH) who are interested in technology and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to foster entrepreneurial initiatives among students and link skills into new endeavours. Therefore, we organize periodical get-togethers in order to get to know one another, keep in touch and exchange ideas and information on cutting-edge developments from the relevant sectors.

Respecting the fact that we don’t believe in the “Röstigraben”, want to cover the entrepreneurial community of all three main four language parts of Switzerland and would be happy to reach readers from outside the borders, this blog will be written in English. We want to provide our readers with quality insights on national and international topics in the areas of entrepreneurship and technology. We will regularly welcome contributions from distinguished guest authors and strongly encourage the community members to become active as authors themselves.

Looking forward into an energizing future, we remain,

sincerely yours,
Tiziano, Camille and Andi
